Hair Loss No Longer to be Feared
Picture this – You walk into the bathroom to wash your hair. You turn on the shower. You pick up the shampoo. You apply it your hair. It lathers. You relax as the aroma of that flowery shampoo takes over your bathroom. You wash the shampoo off; and you relax some more. You turn around and your eyes fall on the bathroom floor. You scream.
This can’t be happening. I am going bald. I can’t be going bald. All that hair that is flowing off with the water; all those precious strands of hair are lost.
Losing hair is normal and is considered absolutely routine. It is absolutely normal for a person to lose up to around 50 – 60 strands of hair in a single day. Shedding hair is part of the daily hair care regime. But excessive loss of hair could be a matter of concern for many. So befo
re hair loss begins to rule your life, take charge of the situation.
Understanding the Process of Hair Growth:
- Anagen:
During this stage, the human hair will begin to grow. This stage is known to last from a good 2 years up to around 5 years in some cases. Almost 85 – 90% of our hair will end up being in this phase at any given point in time. In some cases, people might just not be able to let their hair grow beyond their shoulders, whereas in certain cases, some people might have no difficulty with getting their hair to grow up till their ankles. Based on the length of your anagen cycle, your hair will grow to a certain length. - Catagen:
This is the stage which is a small phase of regression. It is kind of the stage of transition between stage one (anagen) and the third and final stage (telogen). This phase would last between around 2 – 3 weeks. At any given point in time, around 1% of your hair will be in this stage. - Telogen:
This is said to be the last and the resting phase that your hair would go through. At any given point in time, around 15% of a person’s hair will be in this stage. This phase is known to last for a good 4 months. During this stage, the hair will just be sitting on the scalp and it is perhaps just about waiting to fall off.
Miracle of oil for your hair:
If you massage your scalp on a regular basis, it will help in increasing circulation and this will help in keeping the scalp
healthy. In order to increase the thickness of your hair, you could mix equal portions of coconut oil, castor oil and olive oil. Apply this mixture to the scalp and do this around 2 times in the week. Use this in collation with a good herbal product and/or a shampoo.
Drink up:
If you indulge in some drinking, it might actually turn out to be beneficial for your hair. But before you head out to grab those beers and wine, let me tell you. Opt for some lettuce and spinach. These work as great remedies for the restoration of lost hair.
Post Shampoo Care:
Just after you come out of the shower, do not comb your hair. Wait for a while, until after the hair has dried out. You could attempt to rub your scalp gently and give it like a massage. This will help in improving blood circulation.
Rinse your hair:
You could try boiling some leaves of Azadirachta indica herb (neem) in water. Cool the water down and strain the leaves out. Rinse your hair with this water after you’ve shampooed it. This turns out to be a great method of avoiding hair loss.
