An Intrauterine device is a long lasting conceptive birth control device placed in vagina through uterus. It has small strings but can not be seen during sex. If there are any problems with your tests, doctor will not advice IUD for you. It is easy for women who had an earlier vaginal child birth. Counseling is also advisable for people who don’t know the benefits and risks of IUD. Doctors prefer to place IUD during periods to decrease the chance of getting pregnant and cervix is more open during that time.
