Peppermint is very good for sore throat. Add two tablespoonful of dried peppermint to boiling water. Let it cool down and keep drinking throughout the day. Peppermint has cooling effects which attracts kids. Thus they will drink it very happily.
Ginger:
Ginger is also very much effectual on cough. You may mix juice of ginger with a tablespoonful of honey. This mixture has proved to be very beneficial on health.
Hot lemon wedges:
Divide a lemon into two pieces. Heat one piece of lemon on a low flame. Spread some salt and black pepper on it, and keep licking. It quickly brings relief to soreness of throat.

I would always go through natural remedies rather than giving anti biotics. Anti biotics will cure instantly but later has got many side effects.

Peppermint tea will not be lked by all the kids. So other remedy is to hav peppermint chocolates which usually kids will love it.
These all may be very effective but for kids I doubt because kids won’t be able to handle all such remedies.
