Massaging with olive oil is the best way to give your hair some nourishing relief. There are various types of olive oils including virgin, pure and extra virgin. Extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) is termed best for skin and hair, as this category is not finely refined. It is extracted in the first attempt by crushing fresh olives. - To have beautiful, lustrous and shiny hair, olive oil is the best moisturizing solution. Dry your hair after shampooing until they remain slightly damp. Avoid using conditioner.
- Take 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a microwave safe dish. For short and thin hair reduce the amount and vice a versa for very dense and long hair. Exact measurement is not needed; just make it a point to take enough oil that
will work to the ends of your hair. - The penetration level of olive oil is less as compared to coconut oil because of its thick texture. Hence, heating is required to thinner the oil; this will help it to penetrate easily. Set microwave for 30 seconds for warming the oil. The oil should be moderately warm so that it won’t burn your fingers and scalp while applying. It is very necessary to warm the oil before applying; warm oil will spread easily in hair follicles.
- Apply the warm oil to your scalp and massage gently by using your finger tips. Massaging with fingers will penetrate the oil in to your scalp which will then provide greater effects. Cover your entire scalp by massaging and work the oil through the ends of your scalp.
- Cover your scalp with a plastic shower cap enveloped with a towel. Plastic cap will help to maintain the body heat and will keep the towel from absorbing oil.
- Leave it for half an hour; this will let your hair to absorb maximum proportions of oil. Remove the stuff, and you will notice that your hair has absorbed most of the oil. If you feel that excess oil is still there on your scalp; rinse your hair with warm water and a mild shampoo. Avoid applying shampoo more than once; it may take away all your efforts in making your hair look beautiful and healthy.
