1. Never hide your status as a parent

   You are going to date a person who is new to you being honest is the first step which you have to take to avoid further arguments. Let him/her know that you have children in your life; this will make things easier and helps your partner to coordinate with you in a better way. If you make things clear in the first meet itself it will be easy for both of you to understand each other. If you hide things in the initial stages then your relationship may end in unexpected way. Don’t keep your status as a parent secret since your children are connected with you.

2. Accept the facts

   You are a parent accept the fact that people may don’t like to date you, some people don’t like to date someone who is already a parent. You should not take this personally on you and you can date whenever you like, you are not alone. In this case you have search for someone better that can take care of your children and can easily spend life with you. So be careful to avoid further disputes.

3. Keep dating and children away

   You have just started to date and meeting people take your time to understand your partner and never be in hurry to introduce your date to your children.  Your child may get confuse if every time you introduce new dates to them. Introduce your date to your child after few months if you have planned to get into long term serious relation. Don’t allow your date to play and meet with your children in the initial stages.

4. Let your children know about it

   Now if you think that your relation is going to be a permanent one, then introduce your date to your children. Explain your children about the person and give time to both of them to know each other better. You don’t know how your child will behave they may show concern or may dislike your partner so try to make this meeting an adjustable one which will help both of them to understand each other better.

5. Look out of your Ex’s Status

   Try to see what’s going on in your children’s mind, memories of your Ex will still be there in your child’s mind. You need to tell your partner to take care of your children the way your Ex use to. Explain your partner how to handle your children in a better way. Be clear with all the things with regard to your children, partner and your Ex to carry your life further in a better and happier way.
