Bleeding After Intercourse Can Be Harmful

Post-coital bleeding or bleeding after intercourse can cause a lot of anxiety it should not be taken lightly if it happens after every sexual intercourse. If it happens only once that will be a cause of rough sex, sexual trauma or residual blood in the uterus. It normally happens when a person is doing intercourse for the first time that is because of tear of hymen. A female should not need to worry if she is a virgin and doing sex for the first time it may be discomfort for the first time but once you start doing you will not bleed in the second time. Other possible reasons for bleeding could be infections in vagina. Women also get bleeding during periods but that bleeding is different this bleeding occurs after intercourse which can be harmful, this can be symptom of infection of pelvic organs or sexually transmitted disease. Bleeding after sex should be treated at an earlier stage to avoid diseases like cancer.

1. It can be a Infection

   Virginities, Endometritis, Adenomyosis and Endometriosis and most annoying yeast infections can cause bleeding during or after intercourse. Endometriosis disturbs the life of women it is disease in which the endometrial tissue expands it is attached with the uterus this tissue expands and affects other organs like ovaries, fallopian tubes or bladder.This infection can be cured in time in some case if there is delay in treatment then hysterectomy is a permanent option. Thrush is another vaginal infection that causes severe bleeding.

2. Sexually Transmitted diseases

   Bleeding with pain can be a cause of sexually transmitted diseases like Chlamydia, Gonorrhea are caused by bacteria passed between partners during sexual contact. Pelvic inflammatory disease is an infection of the upper genital tract. Pelvic inflammatory diseases cause pain and fever if these symptoms occur during or after intercourse then it is advisable to consult a physician. Chlamydia and Gonorrhea if not treated on time may lead to infertility.

3. Birth control measures can be a cause

   Many women take birth control measures like Intra Uterine Device (IUD) in their vagina may face bleeding during or for the first few weeks of intercourse. Birth control pills cause infection known as cervical erosion which is also a cause of bleeding. It is often seen in young girls using birth control measures. It can also be seen in pregnant women whose cervices are softer then normal. It can be treated by freezing affected areas and this infection disappears easily.

4. Cervical Cancer

   Cervical cancer is harmful its symptoms are vaginal bleeding but it can not been seen in the advance stage. Pre-menopausal women facing irregular vaginal bleeding can be a cause of hormonal fluctuations. Consult a physician as you are at high risk of cancers due to bleeding from vagina as there are treatments like chemotherapy and radiotherapy to fight cervical cancer.

Care should be taken if you bleed every time after intercourse as these infections are risky and spoil you’re personal and sex life.
